Full Description

These standards cover the sanitary aspects of disctypevalves having a one- or two-piece body anddisc with the disc rotating between the closed andopen positions, as used on tanks or vessels that holdthe product or solutions and as installed in productand solution pipelines. The stem that rotates the discdoes not penetrate the seal face or seal seat insert ofthe valve. The disc-type valve begins at the productinlet connection and ends at the product outletconnection. These Standards do not includebutterfly-type valves which may use two- or threepiecebodies and gaskets as sandwich seals and sealfaces in combination with a disc and in which thestem penetrates the elastomer seal.
