The standard applies to cylindrical vessels and apparatus with an internal diameter of up to 20,000 mm, made from steel sheets or forgings; outer diameter up to 1420 mm, made from steel pipes, as well as vessels and apparatus with inner diameter up to 4200 mm, made from non-ferrous metals and alloys, used in chemical, petrochemical, oil refining, gas, food and related industries. The standard does not apply to apparatus with rotating drums and heat exchangers with twisted pipes.
