Scope

This standard provides guidelines for the preparation of an IMU specification document.

Purpose

This standard provides the specifications, typical units, format and terminology for manufacturers and users to specify inertial measurement units (IMU) in a manner that provides a common meeting ground. This standard allows each user to select which specifications are relevant to their particular application. The terminology is that which is commonly used by the inertial navigation community.

Abstract
