This document describes methods of measurementsfor alternating-current-driven light emittingdiodes (AC-LEDs), including AC-LED packages andAC-LED arrays or modules (see Section 3 for definitions)that are designed to operate on an AC sourcesuch as a 120-V, 60-Hz main without the need of adriver. This document provides uniform methods foroperation and measurement of AC-LEDs. It is importantto note that the methods and instruments foroptical measurements are not described in this document;for such information, the reader is referred toIES LM-85-14 (see Section 2.1).
