Strain measurements and hydrostatic tests on welded tee connections in large diameter gas transmission pipe.

A study program was jointly undertaken by the A. O. Smith Corp. and the Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America to analyze the stress patterns in tee connections and headers with various methods of providing reinforcement to develop reliable data for future design calculations.
